Location

Myanmar is situated in Southeast Asia and is bordered on the north and north-east by China, on the east and south-east by Laos and Thailand, on the south by the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal and on the west by Bangladesh and India.

Myanmar is a sovereign state in South East Asia. It is bordered by India, Bangladesh, China, Laos and Thailand.  The Bay of Bengaland the Andaman Sea it is the 40th largest country. Myanmar is bordered on the north and northeast by the People's Republic of China, on the east and southwest by the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Kingdom of Thailand, on the south by the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal and on the west by the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the Republic of India.

History

Myanmar is the early civilizations of Southeast Asia including the Pyu and the Mon. In the 9th century, the Myanmar of the Kingdom of Nanzhao entered the upper Irrawaddy valley and, the Bagan Empire , the Burmese language and culture became dominant in the country. The Bagan Empire fell due to the Mongol invasions, In the second half of the 16th century, the country was reunified by the Taungoo  Dynasty which for a brief period was the largest empire in the history of Southeast Asia.1948,  From 1962 to 2011, the country was under military rule. The military junta was officially dissolved in 2011 a general election in 2010 and a nominally civilian government installed, though the military retains enormous influence.

Climate

Myanmar is roughly divided into three seasons: Summer, Rainy Season, and Winter Season. Summer season is from March to May, rainy season is from June to October and winter season is from November to February. Seasonal changes in the monsoon wind directions create summer, rainy and winter seasons. The Government is giving priority to forest conservation and greening of nine arid districts in central Myanmar.

Population

Myanmar has seven regions and seven states and population is about  52-56 million that was announced in 2012 by the Ministry of Immigrations and Population. Population figures are rough estimates because the last partial census, conducted by the whole country. 

The People

Peoples are Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan. The Union of Myanmar is made up of 135 national races, of which the main nationalities are Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Bamar , Mon, Rakhine and Shan and others is races, tribes, ethnics etc.

The citizen name is called Myanmar mainly population is called Bamar Nationality. Although peoples fill in their identity card of immigration such as Kachin,Kayin,Kayah,Chin,Mon,Shan,Rakhine etc..besides  races, tribes, ethnics write down in it their native names. 

Language

The official language of Myanmar  is Burmese, although the government calls it the Myanmar language. The government also recognizes these 7 languages: Kachin(Jingpho), Kayah, Karen, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan etc.. There are also additional local languages from different ethnic groups.

Religion

The main religions of the country are Buddhism (89.2%), Christianity (5.0%), Islam (3.8%), Hinduism (0.5%), Spiritualism (1.2%) and others (0.2%). Religious intolerance or discrimination on grounds of religion is nonexistent in the Union of Myanmar throughout its long history.

Geography

Myanmar, which has a total area of 678,500 square kilometers (262,000 sq mi), is the largest country in mainland Southeast Asia, and the 40th-largest in the world.

In the north, the Hengduan Shan Mountains form the border with China. Hkakabo Razi, located in Kachin State, is the highest point in Myanmar. Many mountain ranges, such as the Rakhine Yoma, the Bago Yoma, the Shan Hills and the Tenasserim Hills exist within Myanmar, all of which run north-to-south from the Himalayas.  Myanmar's three river systems, which are the Irrawaddy, Salween (Thanlwin), and the Sittaung  rivers. The majority of Myanmar's population lives in the Irrawaddy valley, which is situated between the Rakhine Yoma and the Shan Plateau.

Culture

Over 85% of the Myanmar population is Theravada Buddhist. In the Rakhine region, it’s a combination of Myanmar Art and Culture, together to show the inner expressions of the Myanmar people. Myanmar also has festivals all around the year, at least one in each month of the year. The most famous festival of Myanmar is the Thingyan Water Festival, which is held from 13 April to 16 April every year.
